A technique used to relax the muscles by gliding in the same direction as the blood flow, to return to the heart. The strokes used are kneading, stroking, friction, tapping and vibration to relax the aching muscles of the body and relax your mind from stressors.
A deep tissue massage is used to relieve the tension in the muscles, that also travels throughout the connective tissues of the body. This form of massage is used to help with constant pain, to help heal scar tissue, and to relax muscles that are in repetitive use in athletes, dancers and musicians.
Trigger point massage therapy is used to alleviate a possible source of tension through isolated pressure and release. For this type of massage, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as finding the exact location and level of the discomfort, on a scale from 1-10.
The results and benefits of trigger point massage are releasing tight areas in the muscles alleviating discomfort. You could experience a decrease after just one treatment. Receiving massage with trigger point therapy on a regular basis can help manage the challenge and stress from chronic injuries, muscles that are over used or have been previously injured.
Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind, from kid athletes to dancers, to people who simply work out, focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.
Sports massage therapy is gaining popularity as a useful component in a balanced training regimen. Sports massage therapy can be used for pre-event preparation and help for recovery time during training or after an event. Athletes have discovered that sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares their body and mind for optimal performance.
For anyone participating in regular physical activity, Sports massage therapy every week or two may be a great addition to your normal regimen.
