Parents for Freedom of Vaccine Choice
The vaccination controversy. It has been a topic that I have worked very closely with since forming Parents for Freedom of Vaccine Choice in 1994. We are not against vaccinations. We are against vaccinating our son, and for the rights of the individual to not vaccinate if they so choose. If someone wants to vaccinate, that's great. But I am not willing to risk my son either having an immediate severe reaction for a long term chronic reaction.
I witnessed, through this group, children who have had reactions to MMR shots and have become autistic, after being totally 100% normal before. I have seen a child who had a DPT shot and then screamed uncontrollably for 3 days straight as the child suffered with a severe reaction called 'encephalopathy.' After the screaming stopped, the child now has cerebral palsy, and will never walk or talk or even feed herself. This kind of risk outweighs any possible benefit.
Why would I say that? Because if your child, God forbid, gets any of the vaccine-related diseases, I know there are myriad's of alternative treatments I could employ to get my child back to health, ranging from acupuncture and chiropractic to herbs and homeopathy. Plus my last resort, in a severe crisis, can be medical intervention. However, once a child develops a reaction to a vaccine, there is nothing that can be done. The damage in 99% of the cases is permanent. That is enough for my family and I to stay away from vaccines, forever.
Then there are those who will say "but immunizations have made the world a much healthier place." Really? Why are more children now than ever before having ear infections, asthma, allergies, leukemia, juvenile diabetes, autism, SIDS, and so on? Why are we in this country ranked 37th in the world in regards to health, yet we spend a staggering $1 Trillion a year on supposed health care? Do you think that by spending, hypothetically, $2 Trillion a year, we would be even healthier, or sicker? Why are young people in their 30's and 40's dying in enormous amounts from heart attacks and cancer when just a generation ago those 2 ailments stuck mostly the senior population?
Vaccines have not produced a "healthy" society. We are a sick and suffering America. But there is hope. We have uncovered a different path that has produced spectacular health results, without drugs, without vaccines. Through a conscientious program of eating right, exercise, chiropractic adjustments on a regular basis, and not taking any drugs or vaccines of any kind, my family's 1999 entire medical expenditure was $40! That was for a pre-school checkup for my son. How many readers can say the same? How many readers have a 5 year old who has never had a drug in his or her body? Probably few if any. This is not luck or chance --- it is a plan, and as it has been said, when you work the plan, the plan works.
